In this tour, you visit the 2 most highlight sites of Chengdu in one day: Chengdu Panda Base and Leshan Giant Buddha. With company of our professional tour guide, you will have a close look at the lovely pandas in the morning and marvel at the incredible Giant Buddha in the afternoon.
AM: At around 08:30, our English speaking tour guide and driver will pick you up from Chengdu downtown hotel, and your amazing exploration begins!
The first scenic site will be the exciting Chengdu Giant Panda Base, which is well known for the protection and breeding of the endangered giant pandas which are unique to China. The base is definitely a highlight for most visitors to Chengdu. There are adorable pandas everywhere. You can watch them eating bamboo, playing with each other, and of course sleeping. Your tour guide will navigate you through the huge area, share some information about the pandas, and help you take amazing photos. You will spend about 2 hours here to enjoy the happy time with cute pandas.
Noon: Lunch on your own.
PM: Next, come to visit the Leshan Giant Buddha. It was started to be carved in A.D. 713, Tang dynasty and completed A.D. 803, spending 90 years in total. The reason to excavate was that the local people suffered from the flood each year because it’s special location that three rivers meet here. There was a Monk named Haitong made up mind to help the local people and started this huge work. Although it was disturbed times for many reasons, it was completed after 90 years with efforts of generations. You will surprise at how the ancient people make such huge a Buddha in old time when you see its real size.
Finally, come back to your hotel.
