Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Chongqing City Tour
   Capture the Light Rail and City Park Views

   Welcome to our 5-day Chongqing tour! Upon your arrival at airport / train station, the local private will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board and transfer you to visit the Three Gorges Museum. Located at the heart of Chongqing City, this magnificent museum is a window into the history of the Three Gorges areas and a great place to explore Bayu culture.

   

   Next, head to the People's Assembly Hall, opposite the museum. This landmark building of Chongqing is mainly in Ming and Qing Dynasty styles, with a mix of Western architectural styles. In front of the hall is a square with a musical fountain and a grassy area. Locals will exercise here in the morning and take a walk in the afternoon.

   Then, your guide leads you to see the Liziba Station of Chongqing Light Rail. This is quite a popular attraction in Chongqing, where you will witness the light rail disappearing into residential buildings. Liziba Station is not just an internet-famous site, it also symbolizes China's rapid development. Exit 2 is the best place to shoot.

   

   After that, we visit the E'ling Park, Chongqing's first private garden, located at the highest point of the city. The park offers a great location for visitors to overlook the entire city of Chongqing as well as the river view. You can also see many historical buildings in the park and the unique Stone Rope Bridge.

   After the tour, you will be transferred to Wulong county, about 3 hours drive. We will visit the unique karst landscape in the area tomorrow.

2. Day 2: Chongqing to Wulong Karst Tour
   Explore the Typical Karst Landscape, Covered with Lush Vegetation

   After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive to Wulong Karst National Geological Park. In the park, you will be guided to board a sightseeing bus to the first highlight - Three Natural Bridges. The scenic area is famous for 3 magnificent stone arch bridges, namely Tianlong (Sky Dragon) Bridge, Qinglong (Celeste Dragon) Bridge and Heilong (Black Dragon) Bridge. They are the largest group of natural bridges in Asia, created by magical nature. You can stroll along the narrow path and immerse yourself in the beauty of the valley.

   

   Continue your sightseeing bus tour to Longshuixia Gorge, formed in the orogeny tens of millions of years ago. The canyon is 5 kilometers long and 200-500 meters deep, with thousand-foot cliffs on both sides. The dense vegetation makes this place a natural oxygen bar. We will have a walk here for 2 hours.

   After the nature tour, we will drive back to Chongqing downtown area. We will visit the Hongya Cave if the time permits. It is an 11-storey complex of stilted buildings, on a mountain cliff and facing the river. At night, when the lights are on, Hongya Cave becomes the most beautiful scenery in Chongqing.

   At the end of the day, your tour guide will escort you to Chaotianmen Dock to board your Yangtze River Cruise. Check-in time is 18:00 - 20:00.

3. Day 3: Yangtze River Cruise Tour
   Make an Acquaintance with Yangtze River

   Wake up early to capture the tranquil beauty of the Yangtze River before attending a morning Tai Chi class on the deck of a cruise ship. Chinese Tai Chi is a kind of Chinese traditional martial art and an important part of Chinese traditional culture. Through slow and smooth movements, Tai Chi can enhance the strength and flexibility of the body and improve the fitness level of the body. Then, attend a history and culture lecture on the Yangtze River to learn more about the region. After that, you can enjoy a relaxing morning coffee.

   In the afternoon, you'll have a shore excursion to Shibaozhai Pagoda, a magnificent 12-storey tower built into a mountain. Climbing it, tourists can not only enjoy the magnificent natural scenery, but also experience the unique Bashu culture by visiting the Heavenly Kings Hall, the white jade relief wall that tells the story of Guan Yu, who was a general deified as the god of war, and so on.

   In the evening, join the Captain's Welcome Party.

   Optional Activity:

   You may consider visiting Fengdu Ghost City, famous for its exquisite temples and mysterious Chinese myths (at your own expense).

4. Day 4: Yangtze River Cruise Tour
   Enjoy the Breathtaking River Views along the Way

   Today, your ship will sail through the breathtaking Three Gorges (including Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge). You can enjoy towering peaks and lush vegetation along the riverbanks.

   In Wu Gorge, we will change to a smaller boat to explore the narrower Shennv Creek. Here you can explore the most pristine valley. Also, you may experience the culture of the Tujia people through local music and dance performances.

   

   Afterwards, return to the cruise ship for the Captain's Farewell Party in the evening, featuring music, dance and farewell toasts to celebrate the end of your Yangtze River cruise in a joyous atmosphere.

   Optional Activity:

   Today you have a chance to visit White Emperor City. During the Tang (618-907) and Song dynasties (960-1279), famous poets such as Li Bai and Du Fu visited this place and wrote a lot of poems. Therefore, White Emperor City has the reputation of "Poetry City". Surrounded by water on all sides, the highest point of the City allows one to overlook the Yangtze River and the surrounding spectacular scenery.

5. Day 5: Departure from Yichang
   Feel the Grandness of the World’s Largest Water Conservancy Project

   After breakfast, say goodbye to the captain and crew, and then disembark to visit an engineering miracle, the Three Gorges Dam. You can climb up to the 185 Viewpoint to get a closer look at the dam or climb the Tanzi Ridge for a panoramic view of the dam.

   After the visit, you will take the bus arranged by the cruise company to the Yichang Three Gorges Center Cruise Terminal. There will be a dedicated driver to escort you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
