Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa
Welcome to Tibet, the roof of the world, with an average altitude of over 4,000 meters! Upon landing at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, your tour guide and driver will meet you at the exit of the Arrival Hall and transfer you to your downtown hotel. Along the way, you will first glimpse Tibet's beautiful nature along the Yarlung Tsangpo River.
Check into the hotel and have a good rest. To reduce or avoid symptoms of altitude sickness, you are suggested to avoid strenuous exercise on your first day in Lhasa. And don't take a shower to avoid catching a cold. Avoid drinking alcohol and don't forget to drink plenty of water. If you're feeling up to it, you can have a short stroll.

After breakfast, your tour guide leads you to discover the rich cultural heritage of Lhasa. We will first visit the Potala Palace, which is a sacred place in the hearts of all pilgrims! Here, you can not only admire many historical relics such as pagodas, sculptures, murals, Thangka paintings, jade, porcelain, enamel, and admire the wonderful architectural art of the Tibetan ethnic group, but also undergo a spiritual baptism in that sacred atmosphere. The Potala Palace is one of the top ten earthen buildings in the world, consisting of the White and the Red Palaces.
Potala Palace After lunch, continue to visit the sacred Jokhang Temple, a true holy land and center in the hearts of Tibetan Buddhist believers. Founded in the mid-7th century AD, this temple features a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha at the age of twelve as its precious treasure. It is one of the must-see attractions for tourists and those who go to worship. Taking photos is not allowed inside the chapels of the monasteries.
Jokhang Temple After that, stroll through the nearby Barkhor Street, the busiest commercial street in Lhasa where you can pick up unique Tibetan souvenirs and experience vibrant local culture.

In the morning, your expert guide will take you to visit the tranquil Norbulingka Park, a large and beautiful garden covering 360,000 square meters. It was the summer palace for successive Dalai Lama. The park is home to over 100 species of plants and flowers, and the shade of trees covers the sun, like a " land of idyllic beauty" in Lhasa. In addition, you will see magnificent palaces, mostly in the Tibetan style with golden roofs and red and white walls.
Norbulingka Park Following that, go towards Drepung Monastery, one of the largest monastic complexes in Tibet. The houses of Drepung Monastery are built by white walls, with golden roofs and red edges. From a distance, it looks like a white mountain city. The temple preserves many solemn Buddha statues and a large number of exquisite art treasures such as pile embroidery, murals, Thangka paintings, etc. Last, transfer you to the Sera Monastery to witness the monks engaging in traditional debates. The temple houses tens of thousands of Vajra Buddha statues, mostly made locally in Tibet and many bronze statues brought from India. Also, you will enjoy a large number of colorful murals.

Today, you will be led to visit a local Tibetan family - a unique cultural experience. The local host will treat you with a cup of traditional Tibetan tea. Your guide will introduce their daily life to you.
Visit a local Tibetan family At noon, you will enjoy an authentic Tibetan dish prepared by the host. Then take a leisurely walk nearby and capture the unique moments of Tibet villages with your camera.
